| Self-taught on piano beginning at the age of seven and then classically trained, Áedan MacDonnell crossed over to Celtic music as a young adult, choosing the harp for her main instrument. She now specializes in the beautiful music of Ireland, Scotland and Wales. She studied harp with various well-known harpers from Ireland, Wales and the U.S. She has performed in Southern California and the San Francisco Bay Area for radio shows, music festivals (including opening for the Battlefield Band), benefits, art shows, restaurants, hotels, private parties, weddings, funerals and religious celebrations. Áedan has also appeared as a guest harper on several CD's. This new CD of her own is primarily Celtic harp with Áedan’s clear, soft vocals. Bass, guitar, piano, concertina and recorder appear on select songs providing an additional depth to her first recording. Tranquil and charming, the album is perfect for a romantic evening, or to calm you during rush hour traffic. All songs are traditional Celtic with four original compositions by Áedan. |
