Alycia de Mesa
Harpist — Mesa, Arizona
Alycia de Mesa, also known as Fire Sparkles The Sky, has over 20 years
experience as a classically-trained harpist. She studied classical solo music
and played as an orchestral, music theater and ensemble player throughout her
teens and twenties. Her teachers included Karen Miller, Christine Vivona, Caroll
McLaughlin and Marcella Decray. Today she is a versatile player of many genres.
In addition to performing classical and contemporary music, her passion is to
create, perform and record original, harp-based music that blends classical,
jazz, world music, and pop within an improvisational framework. Think the harp
goddess meets Sting.
Alycia's solo harp music is known collectively as Harp Angel music - beautiful
original music co-created in the moment based on your unique event. No two
performances are quite the same. To date, there is no other harpist in the world
creating and performing in the same manner.
