For 20 years, I was the US Navy's primary White House support musician; have adjudicated
 harp competitions; have given workshops on Celtic harp styles & ornamentation; have given
solo concerts and been in concert and have recorded with local Celtic groups "Connemara"
and "IONA." I have been a full-time professional for 26 years; teach ear-training, melodic
dictation (play /write a tune upon hearing it), theory (pick out chords during a seissiun),
improvisation over a lead sheet and over a chord chart, and accompaniment in addition to solid
 ergonomical technic training for playing comfortably.  I'm also contracted to prepare an entire
 book of O'Carolan tunes for Mel Bay music publishers.

Iraida Poberezhnaya
Harpist — Baltimore, Maryland
Dr. Iraida Poberezhnaya has an extensive career as a professional harpist. In preparing for that she received two Doctorate Degrees in Music, Harp Major, one from the Peabody Conservatory of Music, Johns Hopkins University, the other is from the Moscow State Tchaikovsky Conservatory of Music, where she studied with the world-known harpist Olga Erdely, People Artist of Russia. Iraida is a winner of International Music Competition (Baku, 1955), and a winner of a State Music Competition of Azerbaijan in 1993. She was selected among 35 harpists around the world to participate in International Harp Competition in Israel, 1994, and US, 1995. Iraida's journey took her all the way from Russia throughout the United States. She now resides in Baltimore, MD  and performs around the world. She taught at the University of Central Oklahoma, and at the Southern Nazarene University. Her orchestra experience includes Santa Barbara Symphony, Santa Maria Philharmonic, Tulsa Opera, and Moscow Stanislavsky Opera and Ballet Theatre. Iraida actively performs at social events. Her presentations include a broad range of performances, from participation in NBC commercials to Christmas Concerts at the Basilica of National Shrine, from Four Seasons Hotel to private celebrity parties.
