Sean's Dance
HarpSong — Harpist Karen Almquist and flutist
Jennifer Grady come together once again to create a new CD which is reflective
of their love and passion for music and includes many of their favorite Celtic
melodies. The recording includes three original pieces written by Jennifer Grady
which are also published by ALRY Publications. The title piece, "Sean's
Dance", was written for her son Sean who was born
with Down Syndrome.

gold.

California Celt — An upbeat collection of traditional and
contemporary music from Ireland and beyond. Double-strung harpist Jesse Autumn
directs a band of a dozen musicians on vocals, harp, guitar, cello, fiddle,
flute, smallpipes, whistle, piano and percussion. Highlighting a group of young
musicians from Santa Cruz, CA, the CD explores the lineage of Celtic music on
the West Coast. Produced by Jesse Autumn and Barry
Phillips, this album was funded by a Next Generation Grant from the California
Arts Council. Includes audience favorites "Inis Oirr", "The Butterfly", "Sourgrass
and Granite" and "The Jug of Punch". A must-have if you're looking to hear the
Celtic harp in an ensemble setting.

Phosphorescence
— Alys Howe’s distinct voice as a contemporary
Celtic musician developed from the rich and diverse multiculturalism for which
Canada is recognized. Performing on both harp and voice, Alys has played many
venues throughout Canada, Scotland, and Ireland, earning distinctions such as a
scholarship to the Royal Scottish Academy, The Watkins Fellowship, a grant from
Canada Council for the Arts, and multiple awards in competitions of Scottish
harp playing. With training from some of the world’s finest harp players, and a
deep immersion in the music traditions of Cape Breton, Scotland and Ireland,
Alys brings an informed yet innovative touch to each of her arrangements and
songs. With her debut CD, Phosphorescence, Alys showcases her masterful
understanding of the contemporary style developing among her generation of harp
players.

— Silverwood and Spookytree are two duos who joined forces to create a
beautiful winter theme CD. Silverwood features Verlene
Schermer on vocals, Celtic harp and cross-strung harp, and Linnette
Bommarito on vocal harmonies, flute and alto flute. Spookytree is the duo
formerly known as Knodel & Valencia, featuring Debra Knodel on Celtic harp,
vocals, and percussion, and Jane Valencia on Celtic harps (both nylon and wire),
vocals, oboe, and English horn. Silverwood joins Spookytree on a few

Both Sides
— Moonrakers is an Oxford-based multi-instrumental trio playing Celtic
traditional music and some original tunes and songs in the idiom. They play
harp, flute, cittern, guitar, whistles and sing in close harmony with male and
female voices. The over all sound is a rich texture of melody and
counter-melody, described by BBC Oxford as “an exquisite blend of relaxing
music“. Abi Strevens (flute, vocal) and Anna Lockett
(harps) are both classically trained. Jon Bennett (guitar, cittern, vocal,
whistles, bodhran) has recorded with several professional bands, produced three
previous albums and is a published songwriter.
