New Century Harp Competition
Announcing an exciting opportunity for all musicians to arrange new music
for the folk harp. The mission of the competition is to inspire harp performers
to arrange new music, and to encourage previously unpublished arrangers. The
deadline is October 1st, 2006 with the winners announced by the end of the year.
There are cash prizes for winners and the top ten will have their arrangements
published in a book by Afghan Press. The judges for the competition will be
Sunita Staneslow and Harper Tasche. All entries remain the copyright of the
authors and will be judged anonymously by the judges.

The International Harp
Contest in Israel
The prestigious International Harp Contest in Israel has been taking
place every 3 years since 1959.
The next, the 16th Contest, will take place 10-23 October 2006.
The Final Stage will be played with the Israel Philharmonic Orchestra.
Contestants of all nationalities, under the age of 35, are admitted.
Applications must reach the contest by 1st April 2006.

USA INTERNATIONAL HARP
COMPETITION
Founded in 1989 by renowned harpist Susann McDonald, the USA International Harp
Competition is the largest and most lucrative harp competition in the world. The
triennial competition is open to harpists of all nationalities between the ages
of 16 and 32.
The Seventh USA International Harp Competition will be held on the campus of
Indiana University, Bloomington, July 4 – July 15, 2007. Applications must be
postmarked no later than March 1, 2007 and sent to:
