Bonny at Morn — unapologetically beautiful songs from the Celtic
tradition. Over the rich colors of the Irish harp Barbary
Grant weaves a tapestry of uilleann pipes (played by Eric Rigler of
Braveheart and Titanic fame), flute, fiddle, concertina, cello, and bodhran
(Irish drum). Above this sparkling backdrop soar the old melodies, sung in a
voice so lovely it conjures a world of aching beauty. 6 of the 13 tracks are
sung in Irish, Scots Gaelic, or Manx. Haunting. Evocative.

 |
Brigit's
Well — features an elegant duo: Barbary Grant
on Irish harp and voice and Aimee Aul on flute and backing vocals. Their
sparkling arrangements of traditional Celtic music evoke the ancient landscapes
of Ireland and Scotland. 6 of the 14 tracks are sung in Gaelic languages.
Uilleann pipes, fiddle, dulcimer, piano, and percussion add their rich colors to
this lovely collection of old songs.

 |
Celtic for Kids — A delightful collection of traditional songs for
children young and old. Barbary Grant plays Irish
harp and sings playful tunes from Ireland, Scotland, Wales, and the Isle of Man,
(several in their native languages). Uilleann pipes, fiddle, flute, concertina,
bodhran, cello, dulcimer, and piano all come together on Barbary’s Celtic
playground. The sounds of milking, a young Irish step dancer and giggling babies
add to the fun. Celtic for Kids’ lively but gentle spirit is sure to appeal to
the whole family.

humor — jazz......Be prepared for large doses of musical pleasure..."

At the Edge of the Cornish Sea —
David Hefland —
As I returned from my maiden voyage from the land of Britain full of awe,
unspeakable joy and deep reservoirs of inspiration, slowly the music started to
speak. From the high craggy cliffs where the ruins of Tintagel castle lay
overlooking the dark waters off Cornwall's shore, to the ancient majestic ruins
of Glastonbury Abbey and the dark mysteries of the Tower of London, the swirling
maze of the city's streets and the magic of the standing stones on Salisbury
Plain, I swam deep in the waters of imagination.
|
 |
Beyond the Sea of Reeds —
David Hefland —
As a child, as I heard the songs and stories of the ancient days of Israel
and the journey of the Israelites, they were always a part of me. Through my
journey to adulthood, as the stories of my ancestors weaved in and out of my
being, they finally opened their secret door and whispered to me, as I first
touched Jerusalem’s walls in the city of old.

Callings from the Quiet Grove —
David Hefland —
In moments of describing the indescribable, of yearning to taste the
waters of the deep well and hearing the callings from the quiet grove, I
dedicate these pieces to you.... Reflections of moments in time.

Mythic Sky
— David Hefland —
Mythic Sky music explores the emotions evoked by the power of myth and epic
quests into the unknown. A large tonal palette created by combining the latest
in 20th century synthesizer technology with the timeless sounds of acoustic
stringed instruments and percussion enables Mythic Sky to range from delicate
atmospherics to primal depths.

Faeries —
Phil Holland — Spread your wings and let the
fairy in you fly. Accompany me in this twilight journey through the very real
land of myth and legend. “Phil Holland is a discerning and exacting performer.
Her (not so secret) weapon is her sweetness and delicacy; in the movement of her
violin bow, in the plucking of the strings of her harp and in her voice, which
amazes in its perfect molding of ornamentations and long, held notes, always
careful never to overdo either. Charm and modesty are her emerging qualities
which is why she is appreciated by such a wide-ranging audience. Phil has all
the qualities to make people dream if they enter into her world of faeries.

Going Home
— Phil Holland — A beautiful mixture of old
and new, Phil's delicate, intricate harp playing interweaves with her pure,
angelic voice to create a parallel world of crystalline sounds. This CD is a
tribute to Phil's childhood growing up on the west coast of Scotland.
|
 |
Seascapes —
Phil Holland — A voice and a harp in perfect
symbiosis. Inspired by the sea this is music that fuses classical and
traditional, including jazz and minimalist inspired sounds. “Seascapes” is
mainly inspired by the sea, by the essence of being an islander and the magical
meeting of the Greek and Celtic cultures. There are 9 tracks on this CD, all
played and sung by Phil. (Celtic harp, voice and violin). Traditional Scottish
pieces lie harmoniously side by side with Phil’s original compositions and a
cover of the famous Greek song, “Itane mia fora”.
